Minister Pujari Stresses Speedy Implementation Of Vasundhara Yojana For Homeless

Bhubaneswar: Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has emphasized on expediting implementation of the Vasundhara Yojana, which aims at identifying homeless families in the state through survey and providing land for housing to eligible beneficiaries.

According to initial survey conducted in 2024, a total of 42,915 homeless persons were counted in the state, out of which 33,082 eligible homeless were identified after investigation, while land has been allotted to 30,653 persons.

Similarly, in initial survey of 2025, 58,620 homeless were identified, while 11,827 were deemed eligible after investigation. Out of them, 3,598 persons have been allotted land and process is underway to allot land to remaining 8,229 persons. In last two years, as per initial survey, a total of 1,01,535 homeless persons were counted in the state, while after investigation, 44,909 have been identified as eligible.

Out of these, land has been allotted to 34,251 persons so far, while land will be allotted to remaining 10,658 persons in phases. In this context, Revenue Minister Pujari has emphasized on resolving problems in land allocation. Detailed discussions have been held to resolve various problems in land allocation process under Vasundhara Yojana.

Along with this, while annual family income limit for eligible homeless beneficiaries is currently Rs 1 lakh, need to re-determine the said income limit is also being considered.”Vasundhara Yojana is an important step of state government towards providing homeless families with an opportunity to live with dignity and fulfilling their dream of building their own house.

Emphasis will be placed on providing land to remaining eligible beneficiaries at earliest and on resolving various problems at district level to ensure successful implementation of scheme,” Revenue Minister Pujari said.
