Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Health & Family Welfare Department, in joint collaboration with NACO and OSACS, is carrying out a statewide special campaign to create accurate knowledge and awareness about HIV, AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI).
The Intensified IEC Campaign 3.0, which is currently underway, has recorded significant achievement in its first four weeks by reaching people across every corner of the state.
As per official data, more than 45,200 people have participated in village-level meetings, while over 47,300 students have been sensitized through awareness programmes in schools and colleges.
In addition, more than 14,600 people have been provided information through door-to-door outreach. The campaign is being implemented through Gram Panchayat-level meetings, student awareness sessions and direct household contact, with activities reported from various locations.
The objective is to dispel myths and misconceptions regarding HIV/AIDS and STI and promote correct information and preventive practices among the public.
