Bhubaneswar: Under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh, a Low Pressure Area has formed over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood at 5:30 am today. Under its impact, heavy rainfall is likely at various places in North Odisha, according to prediction of the India Meteorological Department.
For today, a Red Warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for Mayurbhanj district. Besides, an Orange Warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for Baleshwar, Bhadrak and Kendujhar district. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely at one or two places Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.
Under Yellow Warning, heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha.
