Malkangiri: All +2 colleges, degree colleges and technical education institutions in Malkangiri district will remain closed in view of the IMD’s forecast of wind, heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning from September 23 to 25.
An office order issued by the District Education Office, Malkangiri, and signed by the Collector & District Magistrate said the closure was ordered to avoid any untoward situation and keeping the safety of children in mind. It covers government, aided and private-managed institutions.
The order noted that rainfall had already occurred in various parts of the district, creating conditions that may be difficult for young children to navigate.
However, Principals and other staff shall remain present in their respective institutions as usual.
