Bhubaneswar: The Deep Depression over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal is very close to the north Andhra Pradesh coast and is likely to make landfall shortly, the IMD said.
The system moved west-northwestwards with a speed of 7 kmph during the past six hours and lay centred at 8:30 pm IST on Tuesday, September 23, over the same region, near latitude 18.1°N and longitude 83.9°E, about 30 km southwest of Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, 80 km northeast of Visakhapatnam and 160 km southwest of Gopalpur in Odisha.
It is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and cross North Andhra Pradesh and adjoining South Odisha coasts between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur, close to southwest of Kalingapatnam during the next two hours, the IMD bulletin stated.
