Bhubaneswar: In compliance with the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan and the State Government, Principal Secretary, Works Department Sanjay Kumar Singh visited Ganjam district today to monitor infrastructure development projects and reviewed progress of Berhampur Ring Road and Gate Bazaar Flyover.
During the review, Singh directed officials to expedite construction work by using adequate human resources, modern equipment and technology. He instructed the concerned officers and implementing agencies to speed up the remaining work and complete it by March 2027.The Principal Secretary also directed that all works be executed without any compromise on quality and technical standards stipulated in the contract. He advised regular review of project progress and proper monitoring and inspection to achieve targets within the stipulated timeframe.
Singh also visited the Gate Bazaar Flyover being constructed by OBCC and supervised the construction work. The flyover, being built at a cost of about Rs 130 crore, has seen 36 per cent completion. The Secretary directed divisional officers and the contractor to complete the remaining work by July 2027.
Chief Civil Engineer of Southern Circle (R&B) Berhampur Damodar Kaivarta, Superintending Engineer of Ganjam (R&B) Division Somnath Tripathi, Assistant Executive Engineer of Roads (R&B) Sub-Division Chandraya Marndi and the executive officer of the contractor were present during the inspection.
