Bhubaneswar/Sundaragada: The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) held a two-day camp court in Sundaragada to facilitate easier access to justice and address human rights-related grievances closer to the people.
The camp court was held at Sadbhavana Bhawan on the Collectorate premises in Sundaragada and was presided over by OHRC Chairperson Justice Shatrughna Pujahari.
As many as 43 cases pertaining to Sundaragada district were taken up by the Commission, of which 24 were disposed of.
Similarly, 21 cases related to Jharsuguda district came up before the Commission, with 10 cases being disposed of.
Collectors and Superintendents of Police of Sundaragada and Jharsuguda, along with officials of the respective district administrations and police departments and the concerned parties, attended the camp court.
The initiative was aimed at bringing the Commission’s proceedings closer to people and facilitating the promotion and protection of human rights at the local level.
