Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet on Tuesday approved framing of new rules to regulate the method of recruitment and conditions of service of all Government Secondary School Teachers titled “The Odisha Secondary Education (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2026”.
The new rules will replace “The Orissa Subordinate Education (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Services) Rules, 1993”.
The decision was taken to resolve service anomalies in the existing rules for secondary teachers, align recruitment criteria with contemporary standards, establish a uniform State level cadre hierarchy, and accord State Cadre status to Hindi and Sanskrit teachers along with promotional avenues, the School and Mass Education Department said.
