Sundaragada: A man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his younger brother’s father-in-law with an axe following a dispute in Karlaghati village under Kinjirikela police station limits in Sundaragada district, police said.
The deceased was identified as Chadu Oram, while the accused was identified as Pareshwar Kujur.
According to police sources, a dispute reportedly broke out between Kujur and Oram over an issue. During the altercation, Kujur allegedly attacked Oram with an axe, leaving him dead.
After the alleged murder, the accused reportedly dumped the body in a nearby field and fled the scene.
On being informed by family members, Kinjirikela police reached the spot and launched an investigation. The police subsequently arrested Kujur and produced him before a court.
Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the murder and the exact cause of the dispute.
