Puri: A devotee died after falling ill while waiting outside the barricade for darshan at Srimandir in Puri on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Debaraj Sahu of Dhenkanal district.
AS per reports, he had come for Srimandir darshan this morning along with his friends and relatives and was waiting outside the barricade when he suddenly fell ill. He was immediately rescued and taken to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where doctors declared him dead after examination.
Puri Police, after contacting the family of the deceased and verifying his medical documents, informed that Debaraj had been suffering from heart-related ailments for the last three years and was undergoing treatment for the same.
