Bhubaneswar: A total of 120 recovered mobiles that were stolen/looted or lost were handed over to their rightful owners at a Mobile Return Mela organized by the Commissionerate Police today at the office of the Commissioner.
The owners received their gadgets in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Prakash Chandra Pal (OPS) in the presence of other senior officers.
A maximum of 41 mobile phones were recovered by OCPO cell while 23 mobile phones were recovered by Bharatpur police station. Similarly, Sahid Nagar police recovered 20 phones.
The mobile phones were handed over after verification of the real ownership, a statement issued by the Commissionerate Police said.
It is worth mentioning, a total of 1,434 mobile phones were recovered in 2022 and more than 1250 mobile phones were handed over to their rightful owners.
Similarly, a total of 852 mobile phones have been recovered this year, out of which a total of 715 mobile phones have been returned to real owners, police said through a statement.
