Heatwave Continues As 11 Towns Records Above 40° C Temperature

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to reel under a severe heatwave as 11 towns recorded temperatures crossing the 40 degree Celsius mark on Wednesday.

Sambalpur emerged as the hottest place in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 44.2 degree Celsius. Titlagarh followed closely with 43.5 degree Celsius, while Sonepur recorded 43.1 degree Celsius. Bolangir sizzled at 43.0 degree Celsius, Jharsuguda at 42.7 degree Celsius, and both Hirakud and Bargarh touched 42.5 degree Celsius.

Bhawanipatna and Nuapada registered 42.2 degree Celsius each, Angul recorded 42.1 degree Celsius, and Sundargarh closed the list with 42.0 degree Celsius.

The persistent heatwave conditions have intensified discomfort across western and northern parts of the state, with meteorological officials warning of continued high temperatures in the coming days.
