Bhubaneswar: Bodies of four persons who went missing after a boat capsized in Patali river under Nandapur block of Koraput district on Thursday, were fished out from the water by the Odisha Fire and Emergency Service and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) personnel after a day-long operation.
A total of five people including three minors had gone missing while one body was recovered on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Lal Mani Sisa (50), Sasirekha Arlab (35), Nabina Arlab (14), Puspanjali Arlab (5) and Kranti Sisa (8). All are the residents of Tansing village under Padwa police limits.
The tragic incident occurred when all five were returning from Badel village after attending a function.
A search operation was immediately launched by the Fire service and ODRAF personnel on Thursday. They were able find the body of Lal Mani Sisa. Others had remained untraceable. The search operation was called off in the evening and resumed today in the morning.
The exact reason of the mishap has not yet been established, it is suspected that boat could have possibly sunk following some technical glitches.
