Bhubaneswar: A theft accused managed to escape from police custody in a court premises here today.
The Under Trial Prisoner (UTP) was arrested in a theft case. He was lodged in Jharpada special jail. He was taken to the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court for the hearing of the case.
Airfield police arrested the accused and sent him to Jharpada jail. He was taken to court here today. He went to the washroom and escaped from the toilet.
The commissionerate police formed a special team to nab the accused. The search is on at different places to catch him, police said.
