New Delhi: Bharat Tex 2026 has secured textile investment commitments worth around Rs 14,300 crore and generated business enquiries valued at nearly $2.8 billion, reinforcing India’s growing position as a global textile manufacturing and sourcing hub, an official statement said on Friday.

The Ministry of Textiles stated that spread across more than 16 lakh square feet, the event brought together 1,647 exhibitors, nearly 95,000 business visitors, including over 20,000 repeat visits, 11,315 buyers — of whom 6,090 were international — along with 3,461 delegates and participants from 138 countries.

Moreover, the exhibition witnessed more than 28,500 business-to-business (B2B) meetings, over 100 business-to-government (B2G) and government-to-government (G2G) interactions, besides several strategic investment discussions during the first three days.

More than 30 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed by states, including Karnataka (Rs 2,821 crore), Bihar (Rs 1,476 crore), Maharashtra (Rs 1,095 crore) and Andhra Pradesh (Rs 4,100 crore), while textile recycling company RE&UP also announced an investment of Rs 4,800 crore in India, according to the ministry.

The event saw strong participation from several states, including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, which showcased their textile ecosystems through dedicated pavilions.

International participation included ministerial delegations from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cambodia and Portugal, along with representatives from the European Union and business delegations from more than 30 countries, including the US, Japan, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, South Korea, Australia and the UAE.

A major milestone during the event was the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision Paris to strengthen India-European Union collaboration in textile sourcing, sustainability, design and market access.

The event also hosted the Sanrachna Hackathon, where students and innovators showcased solutions in technical textiles, including protective garments, advanced healthcare products and climate-resilient materials.

In a boost to grassroots entrepreneurship, over 250 entrepreneurs and weavers from Aspirational Districts participated in special exposure visits to interact with buyers, exhibitors and industry experts.
