New Delhi: The Delhi government on Saturday carried out a major administrative reshuffle in its Finance and Accounts Department to “strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance”.

Under the Transfer and Posting Policy, 52 officers who had been serving at the same posting for five years or more have been transferred with immediate effect.

The transfers include 23 Deputy Controllers of Accounts and 29 Senior Accounts Officers.

Additionally, 19 Senior Accounts Officers have been promoted to the post of Deputy Controller of Accounts, expanding their responsibilities in recognition of their performance.

The Delhi government said the move is in line with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance.

The reshuffle aims to improve administrative efficiency, strengthen financial management, and bring greater transparency, accountability, and dynamism to the functioning of the Finance and Accounts Department in Delhi.

Under the new arrangement, the 19 promoted Senior Accounts Officers will take on enhanced responsibilities as Deputy Controllers of Accounts across various departments of the Delhi government.

According to the Delhi government, the transfers and postings have been carried out solely on the basis of administrative requirements, with the objective of promoting integrity, transparency, and efficiency in the system.

To further streamline the administration, new responsibilities have also been assigned to 23 Deputy Controllers of Accounts and 29 Senior Accounts Officers.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Delhi government is committed to establishing an administrative system that upholds the highest standards of transparency, accountability, efficiency, and good governance.

She stressed that there is no place for laxity, negligence, or corruption at any level of governance.

The Chief Minister said the extensive reshuffle in the Finance and Accounts Department is part of the Delhi government’s broader effort to build a more accountable, result-oriented, and citizen-centric work culture.

According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, timely decision-making, effective financial management, and accountable administration will help accelerate the implementation of government schemes while ensuring that public services are delivered in a more transparent and efficient manner.

The Delhi government has directed all concerned officers to assume charge at their new places of posting with immediate effect and discharge their responsibilities accordingly.
