Bhubaneswar: Five security personnel were in an IED blast in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur. The blast was carried out by Maoists, police said.
According to Chhattisgarh Police, an IED blast was carried out by Naxalites in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, leaving five security personnel injured.
Security forces were carrying out to trace IEDs and dispose of them when they spotted a wire connected to the pressure IED in a forest near Teram-Gudum village in Bijapur. While attempting to locate the bomb, it exploded suddenly.
The injured jawans were administered initial treatment and later shifted to the Bijapur district headquarters hospital. Their condition is stable and out of danger, said officials.
