Raipur/Bastar: Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the “Shaheed Veer Gundadhur Seva Dera” in Netanar village of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district on Monday. The newly established public utility centre has been set up within the premises of the Central Reserve Police Force camp.
Marking his first visit to Bastar since the complete eradication of LWE in the region, HM Shah described the initiative as a significant step towards development, employment generation and self-reliance.
The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma, State President Kiran Deo and Minister Kedar Kashyap, along with a large number of local villagers and public representatives.
During the programme, Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid rich tributes to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the peace, security and progress of Bastar.
He said the sacrifices made by security personnel to establish stability and order on the soil of Bastar would always be remembered and would never go in vain.
Home Minister Shah said both the Central and state governments are working with firm commitment to ensure lasting peace in the region and to make sure that the benefits of development reach the last person seamlessly.
A deeply emotional moment during the visit came when the Union Home Minister met the family members of soldiers Kalendra Prasad Nayak and Pawan Kumar Mandavi, who were martyred in a Naxal attack in Bijapur.
Sitting with the bereaved families, HM Shah shared their grief, offered words of consolation and assured them of all possible administrative and financial assistance from the government.
He also interacted with security personnel deployed in the region, praising their courage and dedication while boosting their morale.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai echoed similar sentiments and said Chhattisgarh would never forget the valour and sacrifice of its martyred soldiers. He stressed that the state government was moving ahead with sensitivity and commitment to ensure the dignity, security and welfare of the families of martyrs.
Sai further said Bastar was now moving towards a new era marked by peace, trust and development, adding that security forces had played a pivotal role in this transformation.
