Bhubaneswar: In a humane gesture, CRPF jawans have won hearts after ferrying a woman and her newborn baby across a flooded river in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, which borders Malkangiri district of Odisha.
According to reports, On Tuesday, Madwi Jagi (24) from Nambi village in the Bijapur district was suffering from extreme labour pain after giving birth to her baby and needed immediate medical assistance. However, due to the flood-like situation in the Nambidhara river, her family members were unable to take her to the hospital.
After learning about the incident, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) deployed in the region sprang into action and helped the woman cross the river.
