New Delhi: Two foreign nationals who were injured in the fire at the multi-storied Flourish Stay B&B in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area, which left 21 dead, have been discharged from a hospital after treatment, a statement said.

According to a statement issued by the Max Hospital, Saket, a total of 15 patients are currently admitted at the healthcare facility in south Delhi. Of these, 13 are foreigners.

It said that apart from the fire victims who are currently admitted at the establishment, two more injured foreign nationals were shifted to the hospital’s Emergency Department from another hospital on the day of the tragedy, on June 3. Both these patients were discharged on the evening of June 4.

Authorities said that currently, six patients are on ventilator support. However, all ventilated patients are showing signs of improvement and remain stable.

It further said that a total of nine patients are admitted to the ICU and wards.

“The overall condition of all admitted patients is stable. At present, there are no extremely critical patients,” the hospital said.

Further, Max Hospital had noted that the nature and severity of injuries vary among patients.

“All admitted patients are recovering, and the hospital continues to provide comprehensive medical care and regular monitoring to ensure the best possible outcomes,” it said.

Earlier, authorities said that 47 people were rescued from the building, with those injured currently undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi had also received several injured persons, including police personnel who were among the first responders to enter the burning building.

Following the tragedy on Wednesday, the property’s owner, Lavkesh Bajaj, has been sent to four days of police custody, officials said on Thursday.

Police said that Bajaj was arrested last year as well for assisting Bangladeshi nationals – a woman, her daughter, and her minor grandson in facilitating their overstay in the country by helping them make forged documents.
