Bhubaneswar: Security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district have dismantled a Maoist “ordnance factory” designed to manufacture weapons and explosives targeting security personnel. Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of Sukma District Force and the elite 203rd battalion of CoBRA located the factory on a forested hill near Koimenta village.
The security forces seized a vertical milling machine, two BGL units, 12 empty BGL shells, 94 BGL heads, a hand grinder machine, six wooden rifle butts, trigger mechanisms for muzzle-loaders and pistols, solar batteries, a borewell drilling bit, directional IED pipes, steel pipe pieces for BGL, and a large quantity of iron scraps.
The operation was launched from the nearby Metaguda camp, and all security personnel returned safely after completing the search. This action is part of ongoing efforts to intensify anti-Naxal operations, which have already resulted in significant damage to Maoist capabilities. So far this year, 249 Naxalites have been killed in separate encounters in Chhattisgarh.
