‘Political Drama’: Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva On Kejriwal’s ‘Satyagraha’

New Delhi: Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Virendra Sachdeva on Tuesday described the “satyagraha” by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Rajghat as a circus-like “political drama”.

He said that whenever allegations are made against Kejriwal or his party members in Delhi, the entire AAP is seen engaging in such theatrics, and once again the same is being repeated.

Sachdeva said that the people of Delhi and the country have come to know about the alleged liquor scam involving Kejriwal, and now that the truth has come out, no amount of drama can hide his actions.

He added that regardless of how many remarks are made against the courts or how many letters are written to judges by the corrupt AAP leaders, ultimately, they will have to seek relief within the framework of the law.

The Delhi BJP President termed the Tuesday’s protest by the AAP Convenor and his party members as a “political drama” aimed at diverting public attention from corruption allegations against them.

Sachdeva alleged that the AAP and its leaders are continuously surrounded by corruption charges, and through such “satyagraha” they are trying to gain public sympathy.

He said this protest is not for public welfare, but to safeguard personal and political interests.

The Delhi BJP President added that Kejriwal’s approach reflects a lack of respect toward democratic institutions.

He said that questioning the functioning of the judiciary and investigative agencies and politicising them is not a healthy sign for democracy.

Sachdeva noted that the people of Delhi now understand this brand of politics and will not be influenced by these movements and protests.

He said that if the AAP had concrete issues and achievements, it would not need to resort to such protests.

He claimed that Kejriwal has failed to defend his case in the court and is now taking such steps to conceal this failure.
