Vishva Hindu Parishad Demands Legal Action On Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Issues

Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir

New Delhi: Senior Advocate Aalok Kumar, International President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), has issued a strong public appeal calling for swift legal measures to protect the sanctity and interests related to the historic Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.

On his X handle, in a prominently circulated poster featuring the grand Ram Temple against a glowing sunrise, Kumar outlined four key demands to address alleged irregularities in the temple’s Trust. The poster, titled “In the matter of Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir”, urged authorities to act decisively.

The first demand calls for the immediate filing of an FIR to formally initiate legal proceedings. The second emphasises the need to expedite the ongoing or required investigation into matters affecting the temple.

Kumar has further pressed for the constitution or activation of a fast-track court to hear the case on a day-to-day basis and ensure timely justice. Finally, the appeal stresses that guilty persons must be brought to book and made to suffer their punishment.

Aalok Kumar, identified as a Senior Advocate and International President of the VHP in the poster, concluded his message with the invocation “Jay Shri Ram”.

His appeal pertains to recent allegations of irregularities in donations collected at the hundis of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, established in 2020 following the Supreme Court’s 2019 verdict to manage the construction and operations of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. The Trust has come under scrutiny over alleged financial irregularities involving devotees’ donations.

Billions of rupees in cash, gold, silver, and valuables were collected through hundis and campaigns, but serious questions have arisen about missing funds, initially estimated at Rs 7–7.5 crore, but claims have since risen to hundreds of crores.

A major flashpoint is a 2021 land deal where the Trust reportedly purchased a plot for Rs 18.5 crore just minutes after an associate acquired it for Rs 2 crore, raising suspicions of overpricing and possible misuse of public donations.

In June 2026, fresh allegations from former employees and activists triggered a political storm, prompting the Uttar Pradesh government to constitute a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) at the Trust’s own request. The SIT is probing donation accounting, land transactions, missing valuables, and procedural lapses.

VHP International President Aalok Kumar has demanded an FIR, expedited probe, fast-track court proceedings, and strict punishment for the guilty to restore public faith. The Trust has denied major wrongdoing, citing ongoing audits, while the controversy continues to fuel demands for greater transparency.

This renewed call comes amid continued national interest in the Ayodhya Ram Temple, which was inaugurated in January 2024 following the landmark Supreme Court verdict in 2019 that resolved decades-long disputes. The temple has since become a major pilgrimage site and a symbol of Hindu cultural revival.

VHP leaders have consistently maintained that any attempts to undermine the temple’s sanctity, whether through vandalism, encroachments, or administrative lapses, must be dealt with firmly under the law. The demand for a fast-track judicial process underscores the urgency Hindu organisations feel to preserve the hard-won outcome of the Ayodhya movement.
