Dhenkanal: One person was killed and three others sustained critical injuries after a car collided with a passenger bus on the Deogaon-Tangi road under Gandia police limits in Dhenkanal district.
According to reports, the accident occurred when the car was travelling from Kapilash towards Tangi and hit a bus coming from the opposite direction. The injured, including the car driver, were rescued and rushed to Sriramchandrapur Community Health Centre in Gandia by a 108 ambulance. Later, they were shifted to Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital for advanced treatment. However, the car driver succumbed to injuries during treatment. Doctors declared him dead after primary treatment. However, the condition of the other three occupants of the car is said to be critical.
It is learnt that all passengers travelling in the bus are reported to be safe. The bus, named ‘Khushi’, was on its way from Cuttack to Pallahara at the time of the accident. The car was completely mangled in the impact, while parts of the bus were also damaged.
The occupants of the car were residents of Bhuban area and were heading to Cuttack for some work when they met with the mishap.
