Chandikhol: One person was killed and three sustained serious injuries after an ambulance driver lost control on the wheel and the vehicle hit a dumper near the Neulpur Railway Overbridge in Chandikhol on National Highway 16 in Jajpur district late Wednesday night.
The injured have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
According to reports, an ambulance from West Bengal was coming to Bhubaneswar carrying a patient. A dumper was parked near the Neulpur Railway Overbridge on NH 16. The ambulance driver lost control on the wheel and the vehicle hit the dumper. The patient in the ambulance died in the accident and three of his relatives sustained serious injuries.
Police and Fire Services personnel reached the spot, rescued the injured and admitted them to SCB Medical College and Hospital. Police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
