1 Killed, Another Critical As Liquor-Laden Truck Rams Against Bike In Nayagarh

Nayagarh: One person was killed and another sustained critical injuries after a speeding liquor-laden truck rammed against a motorbike near Dihagaon Chhack under Daspalla police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Basant Dalai (45), while the injured person has been identified as Prafulla Dalai of Balabhadra Prasad under Khandapada police limits in the district.

According to reports, Basant and Prafulla, both scarp dealers, were on their way to Daspalla when the accident took place. Locals rushed the two victims to Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where Basant was declared dead.

While the locals detained the helper of the truck and handed him over to the police, the driver managed to flee the spot after the accident.

Daspalla police have started an investigation into the incident.
