Bhubaneswar: The Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ) Court, Angul today pronounced life imprisonment to 10 persons in a sensational murder case.
The court convicted the 10 accused for the brutal murder of Jagannath Senapati alias Jagan, watchman of Derjang Dam, and sentenced them to life term on the basis of investigation and evidence by Angul Sadar Police Station.
According to prosecution, one of the accused had previous enmity with the deceased. On September 18, 2021 at around 8.30 pm, the accused took Jagannath on a bike on the pretext of discussing organisation of a feast and took him to the eastern side embankment road of Derjang Dam.
There, as per prior plan, other accused armed with lathis, swords and sharp weapons waylaid him and launched a murderous attack. Jagannath died on the spot due to the brutal assault.
