10 Injured In Explosion At Induction Furnace Of Sponge Iron Plant In Keonjhar

Keonjhar: As many as 10 workers sustained serious burn injuries following an explosion in the induction furnace of the KJS Ahluwalia Sponge Iron Plant under Rugudi police limits in Keonjhar district on Thursday.

The condition of four of them is stated to be very critical. All the injured persons have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital here. They all hail from outside states.

According to reports, molten iron spilt on the workers following the explosion in the induction furnace.

While one person was killed following an explosion in the induction furnace of the plant in 2017, another explosion in the induction furnace took place in January this year.
