11 EMRS Students From Odisha Among Top Performers In JEE Main Phase-I

Bhubaneswar: Eleven students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Odisha have achieved a remarkable feat by qualifying in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Phase–I, 2026, highlighting the rising academic standards of the state’s tribal residential institutions. Avish Alam, a day scholar at EMRS Karanjia, was the top performer, securing an impressive 97.5 NTA percentile.

Other successful candidates include Rinkirani Naik, Sunil Kumar Naik, and Sunia Hembram from EMRS Ranki, while Samu Paleya also brought accolades to EMRS Karanjia. From EMRS Lahunipara, Estiphan Hembram, Pujarani Kisan, Deepa Kisan, Rabin Oram, and Salkhu Hembram secured their qualification. Thakur Murmu represented EMRS Bhangriposi among the achievers.

JEE Main Phase-I

School-wise, EMRS Lahunipara led with five qualifiers, followed by EMRS Ranki with three. EMRS Karanjia produced two successful candidates, while EMRS Bhangriposi had one, reflecting a strong and competitive academic performance across EMRS institutions in the state.

This success underscores the growing academic strength of EMRS institutions in Odisha and their commitment to empowering tribal students to excel in national-level competitive examinations.

The achievement is expected to inspire many more students from tribal communities to aspire to premier engineering institutions across the country.
