Cuttack: The 12th convocation of Odisha’s oldest educational institution – Ravenshaw University was held today at Seven Pillars of Wisdom at the varsity campus.
Chancellor of the University Governor Prof Ganesh Lal presided over the convocation and inaugurated the 12th convocation saying that now India is leading in the path of prosperity. Ravenshaw University has a national reputation in the field of education, he added.
Starting from Utkalmani Pandit Gopbandhu Das, many eminent personalities have contributed in building this temple of education, Prof Lal said. In this convocation, 4 students were awarded with Honorary D.Lit., 69 students were awarded Gold and 85 students were awarded PhD degrees.
First Vice Chancellor of Ravenshaw University Devadas Chottray and noted vocalist, Pranab Kishore Patnaik were conferred with the D.Lit. on the occasion. The list below shows further details of the convocation:
In the beginning, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Sanjay Kumar Naik delivered the welcome speech while Registrar, Kanhu Charan Mallik announced the names of the degree holders. Chief Advisor to Chief Minister R Balakrishnan, who was the chief guest, delivered the convocation address and said that Ravenshaw University is a temple of learning.
