Bhubaneswar: A group of ‘Gau Sevak’ members foiled an alleged cattle trafficking attempt in Bhubaneswar on Friday morning.  The members intercepted a vehicle transporting over 13 cattle near Patrapada and handed it over to the police.

As per reports, the driver of the vehicle carrying cattle managed to flee the spot abandoning the vehicle. The vehicle was en route from Jadupur.

The rescued cattle were shifted to a local cowshed for care, while the police launched an investigation to trace the vehicle’s owner and verify the legality of the transportation.

Meanwhile, discontentment is brewing among locals who alleged inaction against cattle traffickers and demanded the need for stricter enforcement against illegal cattle trade.
