13 Gates Of Hirakud Dam Opened For Floodwater Discharge

Bhubaneswar: Floodwater discharge from Hirakud Dam is currently underway through 13 gates.

According to dam authorities, 9 gates on the left side and 4 gates on the right side of the dam have been opened to release excess water.

As per reports, the water level in Hirakud reservoir currently stands at 618.71 feet. The dam is receiving an inflow of 90,731 cusec of water, while 2,38,508 cusec of water is being discharged.

The dam authorities are closely monitoring the situation and the discharge is being regulated based on the inflow and downstream conditions.
