Bhubaneswar: Heatwave conditions prevailed in Odisha as maximum day temperatures in five stations in the western part of the State crossed the 40 degrees Celsius mark today.
While Bolangir remained the hottest for the third consecutive day with 41.5 degrees Celsius, Titilagarh and Boudh recorded 41 degrees Celsius.
Similarly, Bhawanipatna recorded 40 degrees Celsius and Jharsuguda recorded 40.3 degrees Celsius.
Besides, eight stations in the State recorded maximum day temperatures of 39 degrees-Angul (39.1), Baripada (39.0), Sambalpur (39.8), Sundargarh (39.5), Hirakud (39.1), Talcher (39.0), Sonepur (39.4), and Paralakhemundi (39.0).
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack respectively recorded maximum temperatures of 36.2 degrees Celsius and 35.8 degrees Celsius.
The seaside town of Gopalpur remained the coolest with 30.4 degrees Celsius followed by 32.1 at Puri and 32.8 at Paradip.
