Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted thunderstorm and moderate rain with gusty wind in 14 districts of Odisha within next three hours.
The districts are Nuapada, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Puri, Cuttack, Khorda (Bhubaneswar City), Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkanagiri, Jagatsingpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore and Raygada.
“Light Thunderstorm with gusty wind speed reaching 30- 40 kmph , Light to moderate rain likely to affect some parts of districts of Nuapada, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Puri, Cuttack, Khorda (Bhubaneswar City), Ganjam,Gajapati,Malkanagiri,Jagatsingpur,Kendrapada,Bhadrak,Balasore And Raygada within next three hours,” an IMD bulletin stated.
Under its impact, minor damage to loose and unsecured structures, banana trees, standing crops is likely to occur.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly.
