Bhubaneswar: The grit and determination of 19-year-old Subham Sabar from Khurda district has turned his dream into reality. The son of poor parents and a daily-wage labourer himself until recently, Subham has cracked the NEET UG examination and secured admission to the MBBS course at MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur.
Subham, from Mudulidhiah village under Banpur block, cracked the NEET UG exam by securing a rank of 18,212 in the ST category.
After the exams, Subham worked at a construction site in Bengaluru for three months, earning ₹45,000 and saving ₹25,000, which helped him during the admission process. He could not hold back his tears when his teacher called to say that he had cracked NEET.
The son of daily wage labourers, Sahadeb and Rangi Sabar, Subham now hopes to fulfil his dream of serving people as a doctor, while his parents expect government support for his five-year course.
