Baripada: In a horrific incident, a young woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by a group of youths in Udala Police Station area in Mayurbhanj district.
The woman was abducted from Bangiriposhi and taken 80 kilometres away from there in a four-wheeler, where she was subjected to gang-rape by a group of youths. The victim belongs to Bangiriposhi area.
According to reports, the victim was lured by the accused on the pretext of getting a job. She was then forcibly taken to a location on the Udala-Balasore state highway, where she was gang-raped inside a car. The victim was later found in a serious condition and admitted to the Udala hospital.
The Udala police station swung into action after receiving information about the incident and rescued the victim. A case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway to apprehend the accused.
