Bhubaneswar: As many as 1,973 constables and 177 havildars have completed more than three years of service at their present police stations as of December 31, 2025, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the state assembly on Monday.
In a written reply to a question by Barabati-Cuttack MLA Sofia Firdous, the Chief Minister said that 737 constables and 38 havildars have also been serving in the same district establishments, other than police stations, for more than three years during the same period.
He stated that, considering administrative requirements and existing vacancies in the ranks of constable and havildar in the district, the District Transfer Committee has been undertaking transfers within the district in accordance with the provisions of Book Circular 42 and the instructions issued by the government from time to time.
The Chief Minister further said steps are being taken to transfer such personnel from their present police stations or district establishments, keeping in view administrative exigencies and the availability of vacancies.
