Bhubaneswar: Forest Department officials today arrested two persons while they were striking a deal at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee park near Vani Vihar to sell a chameleon.
The accused have been identified as Khirod Mohanty and Rashmi Ranjan Das of Tirtol in Jagatsinghpur district, Forest Department sources said.
According to Forest Department sources, the duo had bought the chameleon from a person of Jatni and was trying to sell it for Rs 1.5 lakh to a person at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee park.
The duo has been booked under the Wildlife Act, Forest Department sources added.
