Rourkela: Two young men sustained grievous injuries after they were allegedly stabbed by assailants following a clash between two groups at Biramitrapur in Sundargarh district on Tuesday.
According to reports, the clash took place during the annual Gupteswar Mela held at Biramitrapur.
The injured young men have been identified as Mahadev Sharma and Deepak Sharma.
Mahadev and Deepak were allegedly stabbed from behind with a machete after engaging in an argument with another group.
Both have been admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) and are undergoing treatment.
On being informed Sundargarh SP and other senior police officials rushed to the spot to contain the situation.
As many as 10 platoons of police personnel have been deployed in the area to prevent any further escalation of violence.
The situation is now under control.
