Bhubaneswar: Two persons were killed and one sustained injuries after two motorcycles collided head-on near a roadside eatery at Kaduani village under Bahalda police limits in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Jayesh Mohanta and Jagdish Murmu, while the injured, Narasimha Murmu, is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to reports, the accident took place around 11.30 am on the Ranchi–Vijayawada National Highway (NH-220). Two persons were travelling on one motorcycle, while the other bike had a lone rider. The vehicles collided head-on near a dhaba, leaving all three seriously injured.
Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the victims before shifting them to Rairangpur sub-divisional hospital. Doctors declared Mohanta and Murmu brought dead, while Narasimha Murmu is currently under treatment.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and started an investigation.
