Jharsuguda: In a tragic incident, two persons were killed and over eight injured after truck collided with a pick-up van in which they were travelling on NH 49 near Juniena village in Jharsuguda district on Sunday morning.
At around 10:30 am, the passenger-laden pickup coming from Lakhanpur side was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction on National Highway 49.
The mishap left two killed on the pot and eight injured critically.
Lakhanpur police reached the spot and seized two dead bodies for post-mortem.
All the injured persons were immediately taken to Lakhanpur community health center for treatment.
Some of them have been referred to the district headquarters hospital as their condition deteriorated.
The identity of the deceased and other injured persons remains unclear.
Police launched an investigation.
