Angul: Two women died after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a truck on National Highway 55 near Maratira village in Angul district late Sunday night.
The deceased women have been identified as Kanti Sahu of Durgapur and Kokila Sahu of Jarapada.
Reportedly, they were travelling from Mahidharpur to Durgapur when the accident occurred. As a result, two women died on the spot and two other women were critically injured. The auto-rickshaw driver also sustained some injuries.
On getting information, police reached the spot and rushed all of them to the district headquarters hospital. The critically injured women were later shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.
