22nd Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav Concludes In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The 22nd edition of the Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav concluded on Sunday evening at Dhauli, with Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati attending the grand finale. The cultural festival, which celebrates Odisha’s rich artistic heritage, drew artists and audiences from across the state.

The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the traditional lamp by the Governor. Guru Dr. Aruna Mohanty, Secretary of the Orissa Dance Academy, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the significance of the festival in promoting Odia art and culture.

During the ceremony, the Governor presented the “Buddha Samman” to eminent theatre personality Ananta Mahapatra, recognising his outstanding contribution to drama. Former Indian diplomat and patron of performing arts Lalit Mansingh was honoured with the “Swarn Smarak Samman.” The evening also featured a series of cultural performances, showcasing traditional music, dance, and theatre, which were well received by the audience.

Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, along with Principal Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department Dr. Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya, were among the dignitaries present.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that the Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav plays a vital role in bringing artists and audiences together in a spirit of harmony. He added that such festivals not only promote cultural exchange but also highlight the power of art in fostering peace and unity.
