Lakhmipur (Koraput): Lakhmipur police in Koraput district have recovered 25 stolen motorcycles and arrested five persons in this connection.
According to the police, while two of the accused persons are bike lifters, the other three are receivers of stolen bikes.
A few days back four bikes were stolen from the Lakhmipur area.
From reliable sources, police came to know that two persons who were staying in a house on the backside of Lakhmipur Community Health Centre (CHC) on rent were involved in bike lifting.
During quizzing, the two confessed before the police to have stolen bikes from Lakhmipur, Kakrigumma, Narayanpatna, Kumbhikota, Kashipur and Tikiri and to have sold those at different places.
Based on the information provided by them, police raided different places leading to the seizure of 25 stolen bikes.
