Anandpur (Keonjhar): A 28-year-old undertrial prisoner died under suspicious circumstances at the Anandpur Sub-Jail in Keonjhar district on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Abhi Munda of Saralapashi village under Soso police station limits.
According to sources, Munda complained of vomiting and chest pain in the morning. He was immediately shifted to the Anandpur Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Assistant Jailor Sushil Kumar Munda said the prisoner had suddenly fallen ill and was rushed to the hospital without delay. Abhi had been lodged in judicial custody for the past year in connection with a murder case.
Authorities are yet to confirm the exact cause of death, and further inquiry is underway.
