Bhubaneswar: Panic erupted at the Hingula Lok Mahotsav in Talcher on Sunday when a dragon swing collapsed from a height of about 10 feet, leaving three women injured. The accident occurred at Gopala Prasada, one of the main attractions of the annual festival.
The injured were immediately rushed to Central Hospital, where doctors confirmed that their condition is stable. Preliminary treatment was provided, and they are under observation.
According to reports, the festival witnessed a large turnout on Sunday. Several people were enjoying the ‘Doli’ rides when the dragon swing fell off its track, causing the mishap.
In response, the District Sub-Divisional Magistrate has ordered a suspension of all similar rides, including the “Ram Doli,” “Charki Doli,” and “Pata Doli,” as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of festival-goers.
