Woman Killed, 3 Injured In Lightning Strike In Kalahandi

Bhubaneswar: A woman was killed and three others injured after a lightning strike hit Baladiamal village under Junagarh police limits in Kalahandi district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sanchita Biswal. The injured, Khiradei Pradhan, Sanjukta Lahajal, and Bhumisuta Lahajal, were immediately rushed to the Junagarh Community Health Centre, where they are undergoing treatment and are reported to be stable.

According to reports, Sanchita and the other victims were returning home after working in agricultural fields when a sudden lightning strike struck them. Sanchita was killed on the spot, while the others sustained injuries.

On being informed, Junagarh police reached the site and began an investigation into the incident.
