Angul/Bolangir: Three students were killed in separate hit-and-run accidents in Odisha’s Angul and Bolangir districts of Odisha on Sunday morning. Incidentally, the three college students were out on a morning walk when the mishaps occurred.
Two Plus II students were run over by an unidentified speeding vehicle on NH-49 near Muktapur under Pallahara police limits in Angul. The deceased have been identified as Sadhu Samand and Babuli Sundi, both students of Malyagiri Mahavidyalaya, Pallahara.
In the second mishap in Bolangir, a pick-up van ran over a tribal youth, killing him on the spot near Gedabanjhi Chhak at Patnagarh. Soon after the accident, angry locals staged a road blockade affecting vehicular traffic between Bolangir and Patnagarh.
On being informed, police reached the spot and are trying to appease the angry agitators.
The accident took place when the deceased, Krutatam Bhoi, was on a morning walk with four friends. He too was a Plus II student of Sahajbahal College and was staying with his uncle at Telbali village.
