Koraput: Around 30 people were injured in a bee attack at the Kamta Shaiva shrine in Borigumma, Koraput district, on Wednesday. The injured were immediately rushed to the Public Health Centre (PHC) in Kumuli for treatment.
According to reports, a large number of devotees were waiting in a queue to offer prayers to Lord Shiva at the shrine when a swarm of bees, which had built a hive on a nearby banyan tree, suddenly attacked. The devotees ran helter-skelter to escape the bees, but around 30 people sustained injuries in the chaos.
The injured were promptly taken to the PHC in Kumuli for medical attention.
