Bhubaneswar: Odisha currently has 34,636 pending Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs), Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the state assembly on Monday.

In a written reply to a question by Jatani MLA Bibhuti Bhusan Balabantaray, the Chief Minister stated that as of September 30, 2025, Puri district records the highest number of pending NBWs at 2,457, followed by Bhadrak (2,430), Balasore (2,134), Ganjam (2,023), Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (1,956), Koraput (1,829), Cuttack Urban Police District (1,278), and Kendrapada (1,561).

CM Majhi added that police personnel are actively collecting addresses and locations of individuals against whom NBWs have been issued. Operations are underway across various districts to apprehend the accused, who are being tracked and arrested both within and outside the state, and produced before the court.

Further measures include ensuring the accused surrender voluntarily, with the proclamation and attachment of movable and immovable property in their names being implemented as part of the process.
